Award

SOCIUS Researchers distinguished with the António Dornelas Award

The “António Dornelas Award” (6th edition) was awarded to the work “Work–Family Articulation Policies in Portugal and Gender Equality: Advances and Challenges”, by Susana Ramalho Marques, Sara Falcão Casaca and Manuela Arcanjo

Also the following work received an Honourable Mention, “Why Choose the Inclusionary Path? Social Policy in a Recent Welfare and Immigration Country: The Case of Portugal”, by Catarina Reis Oliveira and João Peixoto.

The "António Dornelas Award" is given by the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security and is intended to reward scientific work by students, researchers and university lecturers in the areas of work, employment, training and labour relations, as well as the areas of social security and solidarity and the inclusion of people with disabilities.


Exhibition of Centres and Publishers

Participation of SOCIUS in the XII Portuguese Congress of Sociology 

Sara Falcão Casaca, president of SOCIUS, organized and moderated the session "The 30 Years of Economic Sociology in Portugal, with the participation of Rafael Marques (SOCIUS-CSG /ISEG-ULisboa), Luísa Veloso (CESIS /Iscte -IUL), Rui Santos (CICS.Nova /FCSH-UNL), Maria Manuel Serrano (CICS.NOVA-Évora /Univ. Évora) and João Arriscado Nunes (CES /FEUC). SOCIUS also participated in the Exhibition of Centers and Publishing Houses of the Congress, presenting the most recent publications, scientific projects and the PhD program in Economic and Organisational Sociology of ISEG - Lisbon Shool of Economics & Management.
